Exhibit Four Hundred and Fifty Billion in 'Why I Have a Problem With Religion'

Christ's fat cock. A nine-year-old Brazilian girl, sexually abused by her father (who also has abused her physically handicapped elder sister) and somehow made pregnant was given a termination. That is where the wonderful Catholic Church steps in as the Archbishop of Olinda and Recife has now announced he's going to excommunicate everyone that was involved in the abortion. Because it's much better that a girl far, far, far too young to be able to bare children be made to go through pregnancy and face the risk of dying or, if not dying, giving birth to twins who would have unguessed congenital problems due to their father and grandfather BEING THE SAME MAN because God loves foetuses more than humans.

Remember this, any time you feel the need, whoever you are, to whine about Atheists being 'mean'.

Christian bus driver claims to be too offended by Atheist bus advert to work. I'm sorry, but I'm calling shenanigans.

Ron Heather, from Southampton, Hampshire, responded with "shock" and "horror" at the message and walked out of his shift on Saturday in protest...

Mr Heather told BBC Radio Solent: "I was just about to board and there it was staring me in the face, my first reaction was shock horror. "I felt that I could not drive that bus, I told my managers and they said they haven't got another one and I thought I better go home, so I did. Mr Heather said he was shocked at the "starkness" of the advert. "I think it was the starkness of this advert which implied there was no God."

There might be no God. For his own sake, pay attention. But I can't believe that anyone, even a committed Christian, would genuinely feel they were too offended to do this job.

First Bus said it would do everything in its power to ensure Mr Heather does not have to drive the buses.

Now get back to work Heather!

I'm moderately confident that this is a joke, but whether it's at Christians who can spectacularly miss the point or at the kind of people who rename things as 'personhole' in order to avoid offense I'm not sure.

Meet the man who wants to say good-bye to the word "hello." Leo Canales wants us all to say "heaveno" instead.

American capitalists pray to false idol for the recession to end. Um, guys? You may want to knock that shit off before Iehova notices. He takes a dim view of that kind of thing and he has got Charlton Heston and several infinite cans of kick-ass at his disposal. [via just about everywhere]

(Separate note to any Evangelical Christians reading: Look! Look! This proves Capitalism is ungodly! Back to a barter system of twigs and berries quickly, before the Lord let's forth His wrath! Go hide and pray in the middle of America and NEVER BOTHER ANYONE EVER AGAIN! Don't waste time arguing, I think I can hear Daddy's Footsteps! Run for the hills!)

The Director of Education for the Royal Society believes that Creationism should be taught in British school science classes.

...[I]t was self-defeating to dismiss as wrong or misguided the 10 per cent of pupils who believed in the literal account of God creating the Universe and all living things as related in the Bible or Koran. It would be better, [the Rev Michael Reiss] said, to treat creationism as a world view.

Back in my day, we didn't get taught 'world views' in science lessons, we got taught what could be proven and left that sort of stuff to our Religious Studies lessons.

But, despite roping the Koran in there, Reiss is really asking for special exception for Christianity, as most pleas for Creationism to be stuck where it shouldn't go are. But if we were to bring in Creationism then we really should be fair and teach all the different types of Creation 'Theory', then all the beginning of the world theories of all the other world religions, then any other theories people have. Once the kids have gone through all that they probably won't have any time left for the Periodic Table or fun with sodium.

'Welsh tart' mayor wants to lift the ban on showing The Life of Brian in Aberystwyth.

"Given what's on TV now I think it's amazing a ban in Aberystwyth still exists," said [Sue] Jones-Davies, who played Brian's love interest, Judith Iscariot, in the film.

We the undersigned petition the Prime Minister to update harassment laws to prohibit religious bullying aimed at children.

The current laws on harassment are not sufficient to protect children from the sort of bullying that religious groups use every day to coerce children into obedience and belief. Threatening an adult with eternal torture may be distasteful but is not likely to result in psychological damage. This is not the case with children. The effects of religious bullying can be long-term and serious, from nightmares and depression to anxiety disorders and even suicide.

The fact that threats of damnation, torture and other extreme punishment are used routinely is clear evidence that existing laws are insufficient. We call on the Prime Minister to clarify the existing harassment laws by adding clauses outlawing any form of threat, supernatural or otherwise, aimed at children; and to provide guidance to the police and other authorities on the enforcement of these laws.

Archbishop defends Sharia remarks. But can Rowan Williams survive The Sun's frothage?

Arch enemy: Bash the Bishop.

Nearly 15,000 Sun readers rang our You the Jury hotline urging him to go.

That phone number being 1111 1111111.

Meanwhile our phone lines and email queues were flooded by furious responses.

Brian Fuller, 46, of Luton, said: "This is the guy who leads our country’s religion and it sounds like he’s given up. He’ll soon be asking us all to face Mecca when we say our prayers."

That sounds like someone who has his finger on the pulse of current debate. Williams wants a discussion on letting Muslim courts decide things = Turning this country into an Islamic state.

Fiona Jones, 38, from Lincoln, said: "I couldn’t believe what I was hearing. I thought we were a Christian country."

Wherever did you get that idea from? And if you'd like to believe it is, why are you reading The Sun, which surely breaks any number of the Christian God's laws?

The Sun bus visited the Archbishop’s Lambeth Palace residence in South London with Page 3 girls Mel and Peta — and blasted out Rule Britannia.

Again with the whole turning Britain into an Islamic state thing. And when will The Sun do a media stunt of which the main part of it doesn't involve their page three girls?

We got honks of support from drivers, but Dr Williams stayed firmly indoors.

I don't know, maybe he only wanted to talk to people who understood what he'd said the other day?

As it is, I think Williams is wrong, but I'm not standing with the mentally challenged halfwits whose idea of political debate begins with The Sun speak your brains phoneline and ends with the words of an ancient Australian put into the mouth of some girl who has taken her top off.

This is much the same as when Williams threw the Church of England behind the Catholic Church's attempts to get an opt-out for their homophobia from equality laws. Williams is playing the long game, he doesn't mind a religious plurality, he just wants more religion in the country. If we have Sharia courts dictating what Muslims do (and there are also Beth Din courts that work in a similar fashion in Jewish communities) then we can have the courts for the rest of us getting back to good old fashioned Christian values, abolishing gay marriage and gay rights, rolling back womens rights, abolishing divorce.

I'm not claiming that Rowan Williams wants society to go back five hundred years but I am rather dubious of the claims I've heard from some quarters that just because he looks like Great Uncle Bulgaria he's cuddly and friendly and would just love to let gays live openly in Anglicanism if only those horrid African bishops wouldn't cause a fuss.

I tend to think we could do with less religious jurisprudence rather than more, but then I'm the godless atheist so I would think that wouldn't I?

Crude historical depictions of African Americans as ape-like may have disappeared from mainstream U.S. culture, but research presented in a new paper... reveals that many Americans subconsciously associate blacks with apes. Interesting, depressing and as yet inconclusive when it comes to people of other ethnic backgrounds.

Christians wrong about heaven, says Bishop. Yet again it's the people who are supposed to know The Good Book best who know the least about what it says inside.

There's a very interesting interview with the Reverend Richard Kirker, stepping down as head of the Lesbian and Gay Christian Movement in the New Statesman. Kirker is very bitter at Anglican liberals, like Robert Runcie and Rowan Williams, who have proven unwilling to stand up to the militant anti-gay tendencies in Anglicanism.
