One of those odd cases, where my belief that the death sentence is wrong is tested by the fact that I find the man's moral code completely repugnant and illogical. If I were to believe the death penalty were justified, I would more likely support the execution of this type of person than someone that just killed someone else on the street. This was deliberate, pre-meditated and completely illogical. Much like the religion that drove him to it.

And is the death sentence really the best way to deal with people who are happy to die? Of course, you might get people on the Green Mile who break down and sob "I'm not ready to go!!" but if they don't then that does tend to stick with people. As Jeb's brother has not shown any signs of dealing with the problem of dealing with people who like him, think they are doing what God thinks is right, and sticking one's head in the sand and saying "Well I know they're wrong" isn't much help when they've got a 747 aimed at your head.
