Oh yeah, Pirates of the Caribbean, excellent fun, even despite my slight tendencies towards ninjas. Good to see the fact that a film relying on special effects needs to scrimp elsewhere, necessitating an almost all British cast, except for Depp who's obviously learnt from his mistake in From Hell by distracting from his amusingly bad 'English' accent by pretending that he's on really good drugs, then having that written in to the script. It does drag a bit about 2/3rds of the way through as the cast all play musical ships and though the climax comes as no surprise to anyone over the age of six with a still functioning brain it is still good fun. And there is the 'Orlando Bloom/Jonny Depp in pirate drag' factor and 'Jack Davenport in naval uniform' aspect, it's like a readymade source text for a 1001 slash fantasies...
