Someone at The Register must be having a laugh, they've used the words 'Government' and 'sanity' close together, without an 'in' in the middle, but anyway... Blair shoots down UK ID card scheme. If this is all as conditional as The Register suggests it may be that there's not going to be any more action until after the next war or election, whichever comes first.
